The competition will have two games per month, totaling eight duels, with the closing taking place in April. The games will also help to select the best athletes to represent Poços de Caldas in national and international teams. The matches are taking place at the Benedito Bandola de Oliveira stadium. “We chose 40 semi-adult players to compete in this championship and athletes will leave from here to play against São Paulo, Belo Horizonte, Rio de Janeiro in a competition that will take place in July,” said Matt Featherstone.

Projects
About 1,200 children practice cricket in Poços de Caldas. This year, 10 more projects were opened, all sponsored by the DME and the Incentive Law, which have as partners the stage and Pamafer. “I am very happy with the success that cricket has become in Poços de Caldas. More and more people are practicing this sport in the city and this is very good ”, said Matt Featherstone. Among the 21 projects in the city are Casa do Menor, Fazenda Lambari, two projects in the neighborhood São José, Sesi, Caldense (which provides space for training), Jardim Kennedy, Galpão das Artes, Colégio Municipal and AADV.
The projects are coordinated by professors Matt Featherstone, Alexandre Felippe and Richard Avery. “We appreciate the support of the Sports Department of Poços de Caldas, which gave us the field for the game in these two weekends”, finished Matt.
