On May 21 and 22, the city of Brasília will host the 1st Australian Aid Cricket Festival, which will take place simultaneously with the IV National Women’s Cricket Championship.

The Australian Embassy in Brasilia is Cricket Brasil’s partner in this great event. The games will take place at Clube Nipo, where three teams from the social projects of Cricket Poços de Caldas will face three teams from the new social projects of the Capital for the Festival.

Cricket Poços de Caldas is the most stabilized national project today, with more than 1200 children practicing the sport, from the age of 8, in more than 21 social projects. Due to the success in the city, Cricket Brasil started to invest in the city of Brasília, with ABRAC, in social projects in São Sebastião. Today, three schools receive cricket lessons and the projection is quite optimistic!

And to enhance the Australian Aid Cricket Festival, the IV National Women’s Cricket Championship – Brasília Stage will be held. The women’s games will take place simultaneously with the Festival and will be part of the selection process for the Selection that will represent Brazil at the WSAC Itaguaí, in October.

Cricket Brasil is very grateful for the support of the Australian Embassy which will allow children from different projects to be part of this beautiful event. The Festival will be open to visitors, parents, family and friends.
