The headquarters of Associação Atlética Caldense received special training yesterday for the monitors and also for the best cricketers in Poços de Caldas. The event brought together athletes from the under-13 and under-17 categories. According to Matt Featherstone, the training serves to improve the technique and improve the quality of classes that are held in various projects in the city. The training also counted on the presence of an Indian teacher who will join the Poços de Caldas team over the next two years.

Friendly

The team from Poços de Caldas will play today, in Bandolão, a friendly against the team from São Paulo. “The São Paulo team is very strong, but it is good to face opponents like this to test the real ability of our team,” said Matt Featherstone.

college

The Poços de Caldas cricket project is sponsoring the college of two of its best monitors. The purpose is to train young people so that later they become part of the instructors of the city’s projects. “Of course we want them to stay in cricket forever, but when they graduate from college they will have important opportunities in their lives,” said Matt Featherstone. “It is very good to see the people who work with cricket grow and having a college is very important. Certainly they will have in their lives much more quality and opportunities ”, finished Matt Featherstone.
One of the monitors who is attending a physical education college is Luiz Felipe, Chipinho, who celebrates the opportunity and hopes to contribute a lot to the Poços de Caldas cricket. “It is a very good experience. Every child dreams of being a soccer player, growing up, earning well by practicing their favorite sport. When I first met cricket, I had no idea that this could happen. I am very happy, because having a paid college to play and teaching cricket is amazing ”, said Chipinho.

For Renata Dina de Souza, who is also having the opportunity to go to college thanks to cricket, everything is very rewarding and a dream that has come true. “Seeing the projects growing and being able to help is very good. I am delighted to have the chance to attend this college and I really want to continue in cricket and be part of the growth of the sport in Poços and in Brazil ”, said Renata.
